Maine School Marching Bands
Let's hear from the kids on the field

Marching bands are found at many high schools - and some middle schools - and some colleges and universities here in Maine.
You'll see bands performing at marching band shows, high school halftime shows (less often than formerly), Memorial and Veteran's Day parades and in the Summer at some of the many festivals and town celebrations held throughout the state of Maine.
Most shows in Southern Maine are hosted under the auspices of the Maine Band Director's Association (the MBDA), which sanctions shows, arranges for judges and provides educational support for directors and staffs.
Of course you have the Univeristy of Maine Blackbear Band. They will make occasional appearances at MBDA shows for recruiting purposes and to give kids a chance to show you can keep playing after you leave high school.
This section will start with a general listing of bands with pictures taken from our archives from as long as five years ago.
Our thanks go to the MBDA for its support of Atlantic Guardian and for the great job it does in promoting music education and performance both on the field and off.
Additionally, thanks go to the MBDA - and various member bands - for their gracious permission to use these shots.
