There were many more corps active in Maine than just in the Portland area. The Drum Corps History Website lists almost eighty.

Lewiston boasted (and rightly) of the Pine Tree Warriors, to name only one.

We have a lot of pictures of the Bath Buccaneers - sponsored by the local American Legion post. They also had local competition in the Bath Boilermakers, which, as far as my info goes, were sponsored by Bath Iron Works.

Perhaps the most successful of the "DCI"-era corps to come from Maine was the Twentieth Maine Regiment.

Started in the winter of 1983/84 the corps last for only 3-4 years. Still - in that tiime they did very, very well on the national scene, earning respect and honors for the tradition of corps from the Great State of Maine.
